Antenna needed for Paisley, Scotland

Postby emmaarmstrong » Wed Jul 23, 2014 2:06 pm

Hello all,
I am completely confused...... Tried to speak to a company about what type of antenna I would need and somehow got even more confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've tried searching the forum and the web but it's not making any sense.
So, here goes...

I want to buy a Fun Cube dongle. It is for an exhibition at the museum I work in and I want to use the waterfall effect as a back drop to an exhibit. It would be nice to decode some of the data too but that's not absolutely necessary.
So what exactly do I need to buy? A dongle, a USB extension and an antenna of some description? I really don't know which type of antenna I should buy. I'd like to pick up Fun Cube and anything else in the region. The guy I spoke to said there were loads of antennas available and I would need to know what frequency range I wanted to pick up and an idea of where in the range satellites would be passing in my area. I am based in Paisley, near Glasgow Scotland.

Can someone please help me as I'm tearing my hair out here!

Thank you very kindly,
Emma
